Our Story

Bobby and I started working together in May of 2019. Bobby's wife, Justine, is a riding client of mine, and she recognized the entrepreneurial spirit in both of us and suggested we should get together and brainstorm ideas. Together we decided that we would pursue a software solution for the horse management industry.


At the time I was running Pearl Equestrian, a 26 acre boarding, training, and lesson facility. Having been a boarder for years before having my own facility, I was trying to provide the peace of mind to my clients that I never had as a client myself. We were sending out weekly reports to all our boarders, listing their horse's turnout, diet, supplements, medications, farrier care, veterinary care, exercise, and more. While this was valued by our clients and created an open line of communication between management and horse owner, it was TIME CONSUMING. The manager on duty would sit for an extra hour typing notes into an Excel spreadsheet before leaving for the day.


Our first task as Equus Manège was to streamline this process, so we ordered a couple barcode scanners from Amazon and Bobby started coding. Before too long, employees were scanning horses in and out for turnout, scanning a barcode to record a riding lesson, and scanning to clock in and clock out. We quickly discovered ways to make the staff more efficient, and reduced the amount of time it took for me and my barn manager to complete important administrative tasks. For example, payroll had been taking me 2-3 hours every two weeks, and I was able to cut that to 30 - 45 minutes after utilizing our new tools.


Equus Manège has come a long way since barcode scanners, but our mission is still the same: improving the lives of horses, horse owners, and horse care providers worldwide by bringing technologic innovation and modern business practices to the equine management industry.
